GDPR, Privacy and Cookies: (May 2018)

We take your data privacy very seriously. And so should you. In May 2018 the E.U. passed new privacy and data laws : collectively known as the General Data Protection Regulation. It affects us all and it is in your own interest to understand how your data is harvested and used across the Internet. Importantly, also what you can do about it. The policies and information below should help you. There are other resources online by regional Governments also.

1. Why we need to collect personal information (data)

The simple answer is we both need to communicate, service and track our progress with each other in various ways in the "tech era". That relies on personal data like your name, email and telephone number or personal preferences. It's more efficient and mutually beneficial for both of us to store information on a computer, like you do with your friend's telephone numbers on your mobile. ... remember how long posted letters used to take?

With 1000's of client enquiries, having your data at hand on our secure database and computer systems helps us speed up our services to you.

2. How we use Cookies and collect data on our websites

Like nearly all websites today we use Internet technology to collect data and track site visitor habits. Under the E.U. GDPR we need your consent to use your data when you request our services or use our websites. You can opt-in or opt-out anytime. NOTE: Without this consent, we may not be able to help you with your enquiries nor will you benefit from some of our website features.

We collect information (data) from you in a few ways:

  1. Subscribe to our newsletter or social media
  2. Fill out one of our website or paper forms
  3. By visiting our websites we will use Cookies to track website user habits (see below).

When you contact us we often collect basic information from you, such as name, address, email address and telephone number or your service preferences. If and when you decide to use our Real Estate services, we may also collect additional information, such as identification.

We may also record more important information when you contact us again, such as a service request, an appointment or preferences of your property search. We may need to note these conversations or details in order to respond. These notes may be stored on our property management database for reference.

We also use cookies (see more below) and other tracking scripts on our websites to collect information about the user's interactions and usage. This is usually non-identifiable to the person as we often do not know who is using the device.

Using our Website Forms

If you use our website forms to make an enquiry of our services, you are voluntarily opening a conversation between us and submitting your information to help Hondon Villas process and answer your enquiry. Our forms have a TICK BOX for you to confirm you allow us to use your data. By checking this box you are opting into an agreement for us to store and use your personal information. You can of course request your data is removed and not used at anytime afterwards (called Opting-out).

4. Storing / Deleting Your Information : OPT-IN / OPT-OUT

With your permission, Hondon Villas may store your data (such as your name, telephone number, email address and service preferences) on our computer systems and email applications. You can be assured we DO NOT SELL, SHARE OR GIVE YOUR DATA to any third parties unless you allow us. We also endeavour to keep your data secure and we limit access to Hondon Villas employees only. Our database is a password protected system.

In any event you can by E.U. law (GDPR) OPT-OUT or OPT-IN anytime. We will delete your data upon your verified request by email, letter or telephone call.

Yes! Most modern web sites now use Cookies to collect user data. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer hard drive through your Web Browser (ONLY IF YOU ALLOW THEM in your browser settings).
